Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

A couple of quick questions to anyone who might know.

Question A couple of quick questions to anyone who might know.

To adapt a '98-'01 exhaust to a '02 2.5 RS all thats needed is one exhuast hanger reweld correct? What would that normally cost me? Also, does anyone know the part number for the K&N drop in for a '02 2.5 RS? Thanks in advance guys.

Don't even bother with rewelding the hanger. It will hang just fine on 3 out of 4 hangers.

Or, you can just heat it up (A LOT) and bent it 180'.

So you don't think that there will be any rattling/weight problems when hanging on 3 out of 4? I'm thinking MRT equal length headers w/ attached cat and a JIC Magic SS catback designed for a '98-'01. Should everything bolt up decently? Thanks again guys.

Nope. If the MRT header will line up well with exhaust system.

I was running GReddy GC8 exhaust on my WRX and it was on 3 hangers and it was fine.

So your not sure of fitment with MRT to JIC? Not that I would expect you to be... Also I'm still curious if anyone has the part number to the K&N drop in for my '02 RS. Thanks again (again)guys.

The MRT will work with any axleback. You only need a custo or MRT midpipe in order for it to work.

I would suggest upgraded hanger bushings if you are only going to use 3 hangers. JIC makes a real nice exhaust, I was thinking about getting one myself. I wouldn't waste my time with just a K&N drop-in. Your airbox is the same as 00-01 RS' isn't it?

So the mid-pipe that comes with the JIC cat-back won't work with the equal length MRT's with the cat attached or I need an additional mid-pipe other than what comes with the JIC? Sorry if I sound dumb but I'm trying to get all my ducks in a line before I go out purchasing random parts and getting myself into something that I really don't want. I believe that my airbox is the same as the '00-'01 but I was planning on a cheap intake and a drop in, so I'm trying to figure out which K&N will fit. Thanks for all your help guys.
