Attn Dexter: New SSR Wheels?

I remember a few monthes ago you wrote about a new ssr wheel, the GT7. Well, what ever happened to that wheel? Better yet, what about this wheel?

According to SSR they make wheels that fit on Subys, so my Q is, when are you guys getting them?

The GT7s will be available in Gold, Grey, and Silver; all with machined lip. The 17s are 7.5" wide with offset 50mm and the 18s are 8" wide with offset 51mm. The 17s should be here December 6th and the 18s should be here in March '04. The wheel you pictured is on we won't be carrying.

Dexter - Do you mind revealing what are the factors that determine what wheel(s) you will sell? I ask b/c I'd guess you guys sell more SSR wheels than anyone else in the US, and yet you do not make an effort to carry their entire line. It just seems kinda odd, IMHO.
Wutzdatbehindu - It is a SSR GT2. click on the links.

No real factors or secrets, just business.

Wheel manufacturer A = great wheels, great reputation, overseas, needs a US distributor he can trust and will help with wheel design and market evaluation

Wheel distributor B = great service, great attention to detail, intricate knowledge of the market, great reputation, needs a manufacturer that has great wheels that will offer an exclusive agreement on a few lines of wheels.

We tell them what we need, they make 'em.

Smile Well then...

...why do you not think that the GT2s will sell here? (& if you do think they will carry their weight, why aren't you guys selling them yet?)

They'd probably sell over here, it's just not a wheel that we have in our SSR contract. I'm not sure of all the specifics but the "higher ups" are; and we have no plans to carry this wheel. Don't get me wrong - I think it looks great too.
