Another "what tires thread?"
ok, my dad has decided to upgrade the wheels on his 01 legacy to the subaru 18 spokes but is unsure of what tire to get. Tires are far from my area of excellence so to all you guys who know tires (esp. dex) what do you recomend. Price range is about 120 looking for good, long lasting, all season that is not noisy. performance should be good but my dad is not the performance freak I am so it is not the number one priority (he wont be auto-x'ing.) Here are the tires we were thinking:
Toyo Proxes TPT

Continental ContiExtreme Contact

ExtremeContact&vehicleSearch=false&partnum=055VR6C EC&fromCompare1=yes
Michelin Hydro-Edge

Bridgestone Potenza G009

za+G009&vehicleSearch=false&partnum=055HR6G009&fro mCompare1=yes
Falken ziex 512

oh yeah, he lives in Portland OR so wet performance is important.

Subarus need H rated tires or higher - so scratch out the Hydroedge. If your dad is like mine, I'd look at these:
Bridgestone Potenza RE950 and Turanza LS-H
Dunlop SP Sport A2
If you consider him "somewhat aggressive," look at the Conti Extremes.
Anything higher than H speed rated is tough to get >40k miles on. I'd look mainly at H rated tires and expect around 50k miles out of most.
Keep in mind, I do not have the ability to test the Falkens and Toyos so wait for some more posts to get ideas on those.
