Okay,
My wife's car is a 1999 Chevy Blazer. It has about 80,000 miles on it and I expect it to explode any day now. We have a down payment saved up and we are looking at either a Legacy GT wagon, or the Outback XT...
Actually, I am looking and will decide for her... hahhahah, yeah, right. Anyhoo, Legacy or Outback?
Oh and by the way, I asked Eric for a quote just out of curiousity, and let's just say, he rocked my socks off. Eric, you f-ing rule, man.

I wouldn't be getting the two tone Outback anyway. One of the three solid colors, so black, red, or champagne.
Oh, and any ride height on a Subaru is better than her Blazer with huge tires and a lift kit. hahahahhaha!!!

The OBXT also has two little extra bumps in the hood, bigger fogs and some minor bodycladding around the fenders.
Apart from that and the ride height, the Outback has more "things" on it. You'd have to look at the two side by side to really know. I'm talking things like cigarette lighters in the trunk (I can't remember if the LGT wagon has these or not), etc.
LGT will probably ride better on the road, but you can't really take it off road (any more then any other passenger car).
That said, I say LGT wagon

Unless you want the 3.0L H6, then you have to go OB as it isn't offered in the Legacy.
