What did you do with your OEM wheels?

I'm about to make the leap to some nice 17" wheels, and being a person of limited garage space and funds, I'm trying to decide what to do with my RE92s and wheels. I've got 18.5k on the tires and they still look very good (perhaps 2/3 of the tread left -- most of my travel is highway) and the wear is even. The wheels themselves are pristine except for some curb rash on the rear right.

So I've got a few options, and I thought I'd take a poll to see what all of you did. I can try to sell them on e-bay as a package (wheels and tires), strip the tires and just auction the wheels, keep one for a full-size spare and dump the other three at the dealer/tire shop or keep all four and make my wife really, really angry by stealing an entire corner of the garage. Suggestions appreciated!

I'm still up in the air about mine. For now they sit in the garage taking up a lot of space. I have a Forester XT and the offset is not the same as the Impreza line. I went to larger wheels so I could fit my 4 pots in the front. So now I have some wheels that I can't really fit back on unless I put the OEM calipers back on. The only good thing is the offset is the same as out Outback so I could put them on the OB if I had to, but out OB has wider (225 not 215) tires so unless a rim gets trashed I'm not likely to do that. I'm reluctant to sell them because I know when the day comes to trade in the F-XT I'll regret having to part with my OZ Superleggs. So for now they sit in the garage I guess. Although, having the money for them and the space back would be nice. I guess I'm in the same boat but my garage is pretty big and after 15 years of marriage my wife has given up trying to get me to rid the garage of all the scooby fodder I have around the place (which is considerable now)

I'm just bumping this to mention that I've been watching the eBay auctions of tire-and-wheel sets, and the auction sale prices are ALL OVER the place -- I saw one set sell for $380, and an auction that ended an hour later stopped at $110 (no reserve on either). Odd that there isn't a consistent price for this item; most things on e-bay tend to "even out" at an accepted price. Hmmm...

I'm still leaning towards selling them, as living in Arizona it would be tough to justify using the wheels for a set of snow tires

i am still debating whether or not to keep them for winter tires or buy a new set of cheap 17" wheels/tires for next winter. just because there's snow outside doesn't mean you can't look good if that's the case, i will probably try to sell the oem set on a local subie board and then ebay them if there's no local taker.

I kept my OEMs for winter/rallyX use after I bought my 18" PFF7's for summer/track use. But now I also got a set of 17" P1's for winter/rally so will probably sell the 16" OEMs. Three sets is too many to keep!

Sold the RE92's with 400miles on them. Switched to '01 RS 16x7 wheels so I could fit Subaru 4pot front calipers and sold the stock 16x6.5 wheels.

I kept mine for when i eventually sell the car. i figure i can swap back to my perfect 500miles re-92 oem wheels and sell my gramlights to try and get at least 80% of the dollars i paid for them. Basically, im going to break even. If i sell my OEM wheels for ~$300 then technically i've lost the price of my gramlights (~$1000+) make sense?

I'm keeping them for the snow, not cuz of their not-so-good snow traction capabilities, but to keep my 18's away from the salt and sand they put all over the roads when it snows.

You know where to go if you sell those.

That's a GREAT way to tear up your center differential and parking brake related parts as well as dramatically reduce service life of many other parts of your car.

It's NOT a rally car, DooD...
