Aftermarket lugs on stock bbs?

Noobie question yes i know, BUT...

I've been running on Rays lugs with my stock bbs wheels (2006 sti) for about a year now, and have seen no problems, but i would like to make sure it's completely SAFE. Is there some rule of thumb where aftermarket lugs can only go on aftermarket wheels, but stock can go on to either?

and I cant really tell the difference between the 60 degree and "ball" seating of lugs. can anyone help?? thanks in advance.
