17x8" Wheels on a 03 WRX. . possible ?

Hey guys

I am totally and beligerantly clueless on the clearance on the WRX. I have heard so many different things.

I have a set of 225/45/17's That will fit on a 17X8 wheel right ?

I also have a wrx sedan and was wondering about any rubbing issues or odometer issues.

Thanks in advance for any posts

nope you shouldn't have any rubbing issues. If your car was slammed to the ground and had 18x8.5 then yeah you would have issues. Right now i've got 18x7.5 on my car and haven't had any problems and my car is dropped very low 2'1/2 in front and 1'1/2 in the rear. So you shouldn't have any problems. with 17x8

yea, that'll work fine, you could even go wider on the tires. IMO you should use narrower rims to save weight since if your only running 225s you don't need all that rim. But like tamashi said, it'l work!

Agreed about the tires. I'm running 225's on my 7" wide rim. You could go a whole lot wider if you like.
