Hey guys,

I'm looking to go wide as possible on my 03 bugeye and I was originally gonna go for 17x9 but apparently it's not as easy as I thought (easier on the 04-07s I guess). What are my choices for 17x8.5 with 40-50 offset?

I hear that offset < 40 will kill the wheel bearings. Also, I'm looking for a wheel that's reasonably good quality i.e. not super $$$ and doesn't have to be ridiculously light but good enough for daily and occasional track day.

The only reasonable priced rims in this size I could find:

5zigen Pro Racer GN+ 17x8.5 +48, $320 ea ==> 20lb
Work Emotion XD-9 17x8.5 +42, $400 ea ==> 20-22lb
Rota D2 17x8.5 +48, $750 for 4 ==> 23.5lb!!

All SO heavy... wish I could afford Volks

 

A used set of advan rcII or RG's are light weight and if you search well enough, it is available.

i got number for 2 rims gold advan rcii the guy is looking for 200 for both. He said no when i offered 150. PM if you need his number to check if he still has it.

 

haha nice try. yeh i saw posting on CL for that but when i replied it said the listing was too old? the RCIIs are being closed out BUT i just noticed that it takes 6-8 WEEKS to receive from japan?! by that time, summer will be over

maybe i'll just suck it up and get some 17x8 enkei rpf1s... i guess 0.5" won't matter since you can't really go wider than 255
