17" or 18" rims? what should I do guys?
I currently own a 99 subaru impreza RS. I want to get some nice rims for the car. I keep hearing that 18 will rub no matter which ones i get and can possible bend due to the really low profile tires. I also hear that 17" are the way to go but the offset has to be at least 48. Could you guys help me out. I want 18" because they look bling bling. But I don't want to waste the $$ and bend the rims or have them rubbing. I also have a 1" drop. Any help would be great guys.
Thanks
Conrad

I used to have 18'' O.Z. prodrive wheels on my 01' impreza with 40 series tires they were desighned for suburu so they had a 52mm offset and the only time they rubbed is when you turned the steering wheel all way but It didn't seem to bother me since I hardly ever turned the wheels that much other than that they seemed to work really well you just have to watch out for big pot holes as far as not bending the rim goes with tires that small

Well said SpeedRacer! I've got 18's and my car is also lowered using Tein S-techs and i think the look is great. I haven't had any problem whatsoever with tire rub either! IMHO 18's just look so much better than 17's.
