looking to lower my car about 1.5" and wanted to know if anybody knows what is the widest tire profile/rim i can fit on my 05 sti ive heard u can fit 10" rims with 255's but that sounds like pushin it even if i roll the fenders which i will do. any help is appreciated

 

with enough work and money you can make anything fit but, without modifications 8.5" wheels and 245 tires

 

im was thinking of 255-35-R18's they are really close to the same diameter of the 225-45-R17's oem wheels the diameter difference is .05" so my issues would be mostly in the width category, dropping the car about a 1.5" and including rolling the fenders what other modifications are needed for the size i just mentioned? i want to know the right modifications to ensure proper tire fitment , i want it to be done right.

 

i have a 225-45-17 on some 17x9 with 30 offset rota torque's and they rubbed like crazy i had to roll the fenders! are u on lowering spring or coilovers?
