why would you want to do that? Unless you are going to run a different race gas map......I would stick with the Ecutek.

I dont think its an upgrade option once you own the Reflash......you could sell the ECU w/the reflash for $500-600 and then buy the XEDE....

well can i upgrad to stage sub-zero then add the xede too? instead of pull the full price for the xede? if not then thats not a very good way of keeping your customers.

The reason Vishnu Performance has staged performance packages is because each successive stage uses the components from the previous stage(s). This is why they charge customers only the difference between the stage pricing. The XEDE is a different piece of hardware and Vishnu does not, to my knowledge, accept trade-ins on used ECUs to resell to other customers.

I suggest giving Vishnu Performance a call during their business hours and maybe they can work something out with you.

i understand that, but if i'm going from stage sub-zero to stage zero, and i also wanted to upgrade my ecutek to xede, i am still giving them my money and business + my loyalty. Because i didn't have enough money for the initial xede which is i think around 1100, that is why i went with the ECUtek (680) so now that i have money i want to upgrade also to the xede, why do they wanna charge another 1100. understand my point of view? So in the end i'm paying 1780 for a xede, IMO that is not worth it. But the big reason i choose vishnu over any other vendor was because i thought it was cool how they dont try to rip you off by going stage to stage, you only pay the difference, but the xede is also a better EM, that is why it should be considered a part of a upgrade. How come no one from vishnu responds to this?

Sorry for the late reply, but we are closed on the weekends. Give us a call at the office and ask for Isaac.

First things first......Ecutek is the better EM IMHO. The XEDE should only be used if you plan on running a racegas map....which is pointless if you are only stage 0, but it could be done to produce more power.

If you want the XEDE, here is what you can do....sell your Ecutek'd ECU to someone for $400-500 and also get there "stock" ECU. This way you have $400-500 to put towards the purchase of an XEDE.

Hell, if you want the XEDE ssssssooooooo bad, I might consider trading you ECUs. Your ECU is setup for stage sub-zero right now, whereas I am at stage 1 w/the XEDE.....however, I can send in the ECU to Vishnu and have them flash a base stage 1 map for my car....

This is where it gets complicated though.....I will be giving away my custom tuned stage 1 (XEDE) in favor of a stage 1 basemap (Ecutek).

this is the thing, i love shiv's tune, but i live in floppin colorado, so i cant have the pleasure of getting a custom tune from vishnu. only a off the shelf tune. The reason for xede is because i want to stay with vishnu up to stage 2 with everything. But get a tune from a local tuner here thru the XEDE EM. That is why. I also want the new XEDE that is coming out for the subies. XEDE SMART upgrade. That is the reason i want to go with xede. But i'm very happy with the ecutek right now since i'm only sub zero, but i just want that option availble for me since i plan on staying with vishnu.

Shiv makes trips to various parts of the country every now and then.......go to evolutionm.net for info on Dyno Days.

Are there no local tuners that tune with Ecutek in colorado??

Also, the SMART upgrade for the WRX/STI is some time away.....he is focused on the Miata right now.....this is also why I am holding my XEDE for as long as I can becuase I want that too.....but I might end up going back to COBB and then getting a protune for multiple maps......when I get bigger turbo and injectors.

well i'm in no rush at all. I just want that option available. yes i know shiv makes his way around the country a few times but when he does the booking gets packed so fast i dont even get a chance to get my slot in so yea. They do have ECUTEK tuners in colorado but not reputable ones like shiv. Thats why. plus i already paid for the vishnu license.

Hi truWRXtacy,

Reason that we cannot straight-up upgrade you from a reflash to an XEDE is because your ECU now has a licence from ECUTEK. You can definitely stay with Vishnu all the way through Stage 2. If future parts are purchased from us, we will reflash you ECU free of charge according to upgraded modifications.

If you are really set on getting an XEDE, what we can do is take the difference of the cost of licensing from the cost of a reflash and credit that towards the purchase of your XEDE. You can give us a call for more details on that.
