'04 WRX ECU-- digging deeper
Hi guys,
We've been testing out some of Ecutek's new developments regarding the 04 WRX ECUs. As some may know, they proved to be very stubborn with regards to open/closed loop fuel control switchover. This resulted in bogs, surges, etc,. For the last few weeks we've been testing some new parameters which were recently uncovered. As expected, it turns out there are several things which much be triggered in order for the car to transition from closed to open loop (where fuel tuning can actually occur). There is also a time-based delay which is also based upon how long the car has been running. There is also an way-too-lean a/f target that is zoned in upon during the interim period. Really odd stuff. No doubt an attempt to burn clean through the EPA emission test cycle.
Fortunately, we got it figured out. No more fuel control issues or drivability glitches. This applies from our Subzero all the way to our Stage 2 kits. We've tested this all across the US, from Texas to NJ to CA and everything is a-okay. If you've been patiently waiting to get your '04 ECU remapped, the time has finally come
Cheers,
shiv
