I was just wondering on a performance muffler I have a normal sized tip not too big not to small, before I say anything I understand that the muffler will sound nevertheless the same but I was also told that a small tip will have a more raspier sound versus a bigger tip will have a more deep tone of sound is this true?

 

well there are alot of factors that play into exhaust note.. i.e. resonator, catless or catted, size tubing and how the bends are.

 

Quite true, could affect the sound slightly wider diameter more sound is projected (deeper sound) compare a flute to a trombone there you have your answer (-:
