probably locked up the wheels ... locked wheels wont make the car turn... cause if you pay a little closer attention.. you'll see the car pitch forward .. him crank the wheel.. but nothing happens...

That's why ABS is your friend. I had something similar happen to me, but much slower, and into a guardrail.

you have to get off the brakes so the tires can turn (as opposed to sliding), and get on the gas to try and get the rear end around. Having said that, it's reallllly easy to slide off a corner just like they did (I've done it several times myself) since your initial reaction is usually "oh crap i gotta slow down!"
