never should a ricer-evo beat a subaru boxer beast.

seems like subaru sould up the anti on old mitsubishi.

heres one good thought. subaru although not winning by any means is still beating mitsubishi in the wrc.

Well I like both cars. My cousin had an Evo 5 (or 4) in Jp and that was a sweet car. Now i can send him a pic of my car! haha. I looked at both cars and found that the Sti was better suited to me.

As for sus upgrades.. The understeer is not reduced at all by the Sti parts offered at least? (ie pillowballs, hardened strut top mounts, pink springs, etc..) I know this was more prevalent in the '04s until they changed the sus geometry a bit in the '05 versions..

The Impreza is a rally car first. Point blank. The Lancer became a rally car. Where as all Imprezas have boxer engines, sysmetrical drive train layouts, and all wheel drive.. Lancers come in a a front wheel drive form. .. not very rally. Understeer in a Impreza? sure. But is that really such a problem. How fast do you having to be going to produce noticable understeer? .. probably only in competition.. and if that's the case a quick left then hard right will get it to oversteer. I am firmly in the Subie camp. Lancer Evo's are my sworn mortal enemies. They are worthy opponents.

^^^

Also IIRC, there was a saying that there was a way to get a subie to oversteer, but it involved braking hard as you turn, then mashing on the gas as the rear end started to slide out...

yes it was a problem.
for us non turbo people there is barly any way to produce oversteer in a stock rs configuration... unless they drastically changed the format of rs suspension post 2000.
In my impreza i had very heavy understeer 25+ MPH. Yes i am running crummy tires but I am the type of person that will save the tires for last upgrade.
I guess my issue is they did little to solve this for the street versions, when the majority of them will be driven on the streets.

If the tyres are what's keeping you on the road.. basicly one of the most important parts of any car.. fundamentaly.. why wait until the last moment to improve them?
