that video deosn't show too much unless we see a modlist of both cars. It's not really that impressive if the camaro had a 200 shot of nitrous, DR's, cams, etc.. and the skyline was stock

i would take a skyline either way

Yeah, that would kinda suck. Wouldn't be the 1st time it's happened though. A while back there was either a tubbed out Lumina or Astro minivan that was running in the 8s....

Skyline is the better all around car (handling, power, and so on) but I always love fast cars either way.

That's your opinion. The latest R34 saw 13.60-13.70 1/4 mile times on average. An LS1 F-body would DESTROY it.

As for handling, the WS6/SS F-bodies would handle at 0.87g-0.89g depending on year. Sorry, right there with the Skyline.

The only thing that the Skyline had over an F-body was an IRS setup, interior refinement, and a turbo which made power upgrades fairly easy to achieve.

I don't know why everybody thinks Skylines and Supras are so damned fast. They aren't.

Not for long? I guess you've never heard of John Force. Let's hear it for those mid 4 second 1/4 mile times.

Ah, and how fast is the fastest import?

You're probably referring to the 1LE package.

For the record, the best handling F-bodies of all time, and some of the best handling cars to ever leave a GM factory were the 1985-1987 IROCs. They had Bilstein-tuned suspensions and would corner at 0.92g on the skid pad. Yes, that's right, 0.92g.

For the record, the 2004-2006 STi/STI handles at around 0.90-0.92g on the skid pad. I can't comment on the pre-2004 models, but for the record, even the oldest STi (1994) was at the least, 7 years older than the 1987 IROC.

I'm not pointing fingers or making assumptions about people, and I'm just commenting in general, but the ignorance of people never ceases to amaze. People think just because a car is domestic that it doesn't handle. Some of these people need to educate themselves before running their mouths about things they know nothing about.

Ignorance sure is bliss.

Oh yes, and here's a list of some of those American cars that don't handle.

1. Corvette (ZO6 included)

2. Saleen S7

3. Mosler MT900

4. Camaro IROC-Z

5. WS6 Firebird

6. SS Camaro

7. Ford GT

8. Saleen Mustang

9. Roush Stage 3 Mustang

Any questions?
