Not a bad idea... but you're not going to be running over 21psi on pump gas. If you're thinking E85 or meth injection, then the OMNI sensor is the way to go.

Ah yes... if you want to do race gas, then you'd want to get it before the pump tune as well.

Hi Ed, nice thread. Thanks for your work on my car, looking forward to getting back in it. Maybe you could post the final numbers when it's all finished.

We recently finished breaking in and tuning another relatively big build for a customer in Reno. This car came out very nice all around with a great street powerband. This 06 STI has:

EQ Tuning Stage 1 Shortblock
EQ Tuning Stage 1 Heads w/ stock cams
EQ Tuning Oil Pickup
Cosworth Timing Belt Guide
GrimmSpeed TGV Deletes
Element Tuning GT52 Turbo
EQ Tuning EWG UP with Tial 38mm
Catless TBE
Spearco TMIC
Deatschwerks 850cc Injectors
Perrin Inlet
KSTech 73mm CAI
Walbro Fuel Pump
Hallman MBC
OMNI 4 BAR MAP Sensor
Coolingmist CMGS Pro Series Meth Injection System (Trunk Mounted In-Tank Pump, 52mm Gauge Style Controller, flow sensor, auto-learn failsafe, dual nozzles)

This tune was done on 91 Octane with a 50/50 mix of Meth/Water running dual nozzles and a peak boost of 26psi (No smoothing was applied to the graph):

The power and response on this car are just amazing especially for running pump gas

Thanks

Here is another build we finished up and tuned recently. This 05 STI came into the shop 100% stock. We built a nice strong engine, put in a catless TBE, GT52 turbo, and supporting mods. In the end, the car left with over 100whp more than it came in with .

Here is the mod list:

EQ Stage 2 Block
EQ Stage 1 Heads
EQ Oil Pickup
Element GT52 Turbo
EQ EWG UP with Tial 38mm
DW 850cc Injectors
Spearco TMIC
Perrin Inlet
AEM CAI
TurboXS TBE (Catless, RFL)
Walbro Fuel Pump
Hallman MBC

The tune was done on straight 91 Octane at 19psi peak (no smoothing applied to chart):

The spool on this turbo continues to impress me! This car has most of its torque by 3500RPM and still pulls hard all the way to redline!

Thanks

Hey Ed,
i was wondering what the gain difference would be on your stage 2 tune between a catted and catless downpipe on a 08+ STi

Its usually about 5whp or less difference between catted/catless.

Thanks
