Why do dems seem to like John McCain?
Is it just me, or do the democrats as a whole tend to talk favorably regarding John McCain? http://mccain.senate.gov/
Would anyone share thoughts on why that is?

I don't know much about him, but from what i gather he is pretty well known for being an intelligent, respectable guy - and thats exremely rare. In my opinion that transcends the whole republican/democrat nomenclature.

Because McCain is a stand-up guy and a great model-American.
He's intelligent, rational and not afraid to speak his mind regardless of the affected political party.
The only downside to McCain is that he's capable of becoming a loose cannon with his tongue. Regardless, I’d vote for him in a heartbeat…

McCain is, as Salty said, unafraid to speak his mind. He is straight-forward and honest, very refreshing in the world of politics. That's really all it takes to bring polarized America back together.
