That would be the most solid proof for the idea that conservatism is a mental disorder. Doesn't surprise me from you though.

If the ten commandments are a sacred pillar of American life, I'm in the wrong place. Luckily this is just more proof that conservatism is a blinding mental disorder.

You know, it's common in arguments for one side to accuse the other of a weakness they themselves possess...I'm thinking the conservatives may be projecting mental disorders on to the rest of us.

The inability to separate sarcasm from serious statements is telling, young man.

Which one do you think we should ignore in our society?

Graven images (ok, so even the church ignores this one I think)
Idol Worship
Using the Lord's name in vain
Observing the sabbath (6 days of work)... we only have 5 now =)
Honor your father and mother
Thou shalt not kill.
Thou shalt not commit adultery.
Thou shalt not steal.
Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ***, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.

Any of them if I want to, except thou shalt not kill. It's called Freedom of Religion. If you don't want to follow those commandments you don't have too.

We shouldn't follow these commandments just because they are religious. If we happen to follow some of them it should be because of personal ideals or becuase some are the laws of our nation.

Thou shalt not kill, steal are the only two that should be black and white / yes and no in legal code.

The others should be on a person by person basis

We're on computers typing...sarcasm is expressed by verbal inflection. The only way to tell if someone is being sarcastic online is to assume that rediculoous statements are sarcastic. But since you make so many rediculous statements on a daily basis, there's no way for me or anyone else to tell if you're ever being sarcastic. Besides even if you were being sarcastic that statement is still corny, and my response was fairly humorous in the context of the thread.

Ignore: -idol worship, -graven images, -God's name in vain, -sabbath (if you want), -mother and father (if you want, that's your choice), -adultery (again, that's a personal choice), -covet thy neighbor (this one is actually 180 degrees out of sync with America. Capitalism is all about coveting.)

I specifically asked, "Which one do you think we should ignore in our society."

So are you saying that our legal system and society, now based upon these pillars, can be sustained with the elimination of all but "don't kill?"
