I guess I should have been more specific... What would it take to ingrain the post 9/11 "feel" into your mind permanently?

Good for you! Mine have still been struggling last time I checked. Oh well, maybe time for something new.

Had been thinking about this, so I decided to finally get to replying.

Though I'm sure the post 9/11 feel was quite diffrent for everybody - and especially powerful in the NY/DC area - I really wasn't just really moved by the event. Not to say that I didn't feel horrible for those who died, and anger at those who killed them, but I never felt fearful on or after 9/11. I guess it probably woke me up a bit as far as world affairs, but that became something that I now persue fairly regularly. To be perfectly honest (and trivial as well), the biggest effect 9/11 had on me was killing my travel plans for later in the month. I went mountain biking and went to class the next day, thinking of the previous day's events of course, but not worrying at all.

I'm sure some of you will find that hard to believe, but I know many of my friends and family who feel the same way. Hell I'm sure a lot of people who read this forum agree with me, as it was hard to feel fear so far away from the catastrophie. Especially in the suburban/rural area I live in, I never have and probably never will feel fearful, and in that respect never be "woken up". Of course in a big city it could be diffrent *shrugs*
