What a bunch of selfish babies
It's true!
And if you go over to leftist-Nasioc they mention that the EU, which consists of 25(?) separate countries, has contributed more. They do this so they instead of listing everyone (like France) for their shortcomings.

My earlier post was an attempt to bait the UN-Loving Leftists that post here.
Yes, the higher/better moral road says that the US needs to give whatever help we can; money, aid, people, etc.
I agree with helping those that need it.
The ironic point is that the countries that we lend a helping hand to HAVE/WILL NEVER reciprocate the offer...and will continue to bad-mouth our country.
Just like the ****** they are.
To that, I say
'em.

For every ten dusty, starving idiots blaming america for their bad luck, there are one or two who are right.

I hope I'm reading you wrong, my friend, but are you saying that the US needs to aid these "poor unfortunates" because we caused them!?
Here's a brilliant idea.
If the UN wants money to send as aid, Coffee Anan should tap the wealth of his ****ing useless son...you know, the one that made MILLIONS on the Iraq "Oil for Food" scheme.

Don't you think that when we sanction/occupy/overthrow anyone's government, they aren't going to be too happy with us? Don't you think that in our history of operations we have maybe done somthing that didn't have a positive effect on the people who's GOVERNMENT we were trying to punish? I think lots of the people who hate america have a damn good reason to. However, i think MOST of the people who hate america either only do so because their government tells them to, or can't take responsibility for themselves and blame their own stupidity and stubborness on somthing as intangible as a NATION. I think most of the middle east falls into the latter category. If you live in a feild of gravel, its not the united states fault you are hungry. If you're stuck in the 17th century because of your crazy *** religion, its not americas fault your ricepaper government can't go a week without collapsing into chaos.

I think it is very lame for anyone to ***** about my country giving money to others in the wake of a natural disaster. We have a huge deficit, yet we are still sending money over their to help ease the pain of this natural disaster. Could we give more? probably, in fact, we probably will. Are we obligated to hand over one red cent? no.
I say Phucket. Sorry, couldn't resist.
edit: sorry, I didn't know it was improper to say bee-otch on this forum.

I concede that the gentlemen that you've mentioned have questionable business dealings.
This post/discussion is not about allegedly crooked US business men, but rather the sheer hypocricy of the UN, et al.
"But U.N. Undersecretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs Jan Egeland suggested that the United States (was) being "stingy" with relief funds, saying there would be more available if taxes were raised...
Don't you find Jan Egeland's "suggestion" a little troubling, given the fact that the UN & Coffee's son made unknown MILLIONS of dollars AND kept Saddam in power?

I'd rather see the government fund religious or other aid organizations.
As far as phuket(sp?), I'd love to see the list of Americans missing from there... y'all know this is the child **** capital of the world, right?
