Should the Poor Vote?

Why don't we just prorate everyone's vote? If you're in the top tax bracket, you get 3 votes, the next bracket 2, the next 1, and then everyone else can deal with what rich people want in our country. After all, rich people are SOOO smart, that's why they're rich right? And then since politicians are all already rich people, we can make being poor illegal and jail everyone who makes less than $300,000/year! Imagine how much land all the rich people would get!

The right to vote is not based on the amount of money you have, or what government programs you are involved with. If it's ok to tell poor people not to vote, then it's ok to tell rich people that their votes are worth more. That's where it came from...

All adult Americans should be easily able to vote. Very, very few of us should bother to exercise that right, however. Maybe 5% of the population actually pays enough attention to the world and gives proper consideration to issues and candidates as a whole.
