The only real problem I have with Paul is that's he's an extremist in his views which is also something to respect to a point. I'm also surprised nobody here didn't mention the fact he's against the Federal Education saying that it should be left to the state and local level.
Which brings up his extremism on government agencies. He wants all these organizations to disappear and he wants votes? Who does he expect to vote for him? Again, a lot of good ideas and few outlandish ones. I like Ron Paul but... hmmmm

Like I said, he's a strict Jeffersonian Constitutionalist. The founding Fathers explicitly delegated a lot of things to the states which have been usurped by federal mandates and departments and who can really say which of them we'd be better off without. I mean what good has the Federal department of education done for you lately? -apart from taking your tax money and making careers for more federal administrators and bureaucrats.
What I like most about him is that he's a man of principle, even if I disagree with some of his principles, you have to respect a guy who says what he believes and sticks to it, voting his conscience regardless of the polls and whims of "pop" culture at any given time.
In that regard, yes- he is an extremist, but I really prefer his principled, benevolent political extremism to the flaccid corporate/religious extremist lap dogs that both parties seem to think are the only people "electable".
If more people with principle and his level of dedication to our constitution and the rule of law had been in office this last century or so, I really don't think our country would be anywhere near as badly screwed up as it currently is.
So you like him but.... but what? would you prefer an opportunistic vampire like Giuliani? maybe a flip-flopping (jack) Mormon like Mitt? or maybe a corporate brown-noser like Hillary? or would the country be better off being run by someone who smiles nice but stands for absolutely nothing like Barack Obama?
Sadly, the only people I'd even think about voting for from either party are being deliberately marginalized by the media to fit the "unelectable" mold because the transnational corporate masters fear truth and integrity to their core, while milquetoast whiners like McCain, Giuliani, Obama and hillary are being propped up as if anyone who gives a crap about this country sees any value at all in any of them.

Show me where the Constitution authorizes Federal Education.
Yes, he's extreme, which needs to be respected/fostered/encouraged/etc when compared to the mush mouthed, say nothing types we have now.
