He was the Libertarian candidate in 1988 only picked up a fraction of a percentage of the vote.
Has served in Congress as a republican for 10 terms.
A real principled guy, believes in a fairly strict Jeffersonian interpretation of the constitution;
Brief Overview of Congressman Paul’s Record:
He has never voted to raise taxes.
He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
He has never voted to raise congressional pay.
He has never taken a government-paid junket.
He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.
He voted against the Patriot Act.
He voted against regulating the Internet.
He voted against the Iraq war.
He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program.
He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year.
And he's got my vote, probably a good enough reason for you to think he's a crackpot, but I think he might be our nation's last best hope.

No, no... I think you may be right.
A small government guy. Seems like a stand-up guy. Too bad that's exactly why the Republican party won't acknowledge his grassroots campaign.

I've been watching a lot of videos on Ron Paul and even though I don't agree 100% with all of his views, I do see eye to eye on most of them. He also seems to have a firm understanding of the issues.
I think you have to respect someone that has a firm view and decent opinion on an issue. He's not a cookie-cutter Republican Candidate and I think that's great. I may vote for him as well. Maybe he'll go independent and have a chance?

Interesting. I'm going to look more into him. Until now, I wasn't sure who to vote for. The only person that had a def. vote from me was a person not running, Newt Gingrich.

QFT!!!! I'll be voting for him too, I don't know if he has a chance, but i'll def be voting for him. He has the ***** to say what the others don't, he doesn't 'follow the line'. IMO he states what he TRUELY believes, not what his party wants him to believe.... His says it best and I think it's pretty accurate.. "I am a true republican, not this new generation of republicans"
