Israel, if my assumptions are correct, is about to do the greatest feint of the 21st century. They have telegraphed their supposed intentions to ramrod up northward towards to Litani River, but in actuality, they will begin a series of air-mobile assaults towards Hez High Payoff targets (HPTs).

Utilizing SF, drones, and small infantry units located in such a way that they can mass up to battalion size (500-600) very quickly, Israel will use rotary-winged aircraft, bombers, and missiles to finally reduce the Hez missile arsenal; then proceed to movements-to-contact followed by precision raids which are designed to destroy Hez forces.

My original prediction was for about 0500 Israeli local (GMT+3), but I'm already about 3 hours wrong. I do think that it will be in the next 24 hours.

 

I'm inclined to agree (though your theory is better thought out than my own as I have limited knowledge of combat tactics.) What Isreal was doing/saying earlier seemed strangely obvious and out of character.

I think that Anderson Cooper missed a scoop last night in that he agreed to move out of Israel to Cyprus with everyone else, but some reporter from Fox was standing on the northern border as Israeli howitzers were blasting targets on the far side of a huge hill in S. Lebanon between the northern border and the Litani. I believe that Cooper is Actually in Beirut right now, though.

Anyhow, with the location and the size of that big hill, the Israelis would be insane to attack it or intend to move over it. The Hez would be dug in so well, either on top of that hill or somewhere where they could overwatch it (with well planned targets dotted all along that hill and mine-wire obstacles and fighting positions dug in just behind the crest of it.)

Of course, the Hez aren't stupid, though. They have to have considered a feint as well.

Lastly, I know my vantage point of assessing the terrain through my tv would give me an awfully narrow perspective, but I'm making my assumption based off of a few articles I've read as well.

 

It really is a shame what's going on in Lebanon.

It's looking like my feint prediction was off. I guess the Hez didn't fortify and I guess Israel must've had pretty good intel that they didn't. SF, cav, and ground and aerial scouts always pay off.

 

That's still pretty small scale stuff (relatively speaking), hard to say what they're going to do.

 

Well, if the Hez defense is relatively non-existant (with their mindset wholly being towards terrorism), small scale may well be all that's necessary.

If that's the situation, Israel's only intent would be to destroy as many Hez and Hez missile locations as quickly as possible, then pop smoke (leave).
