I smoked a bong rip about half an hour ago, right before I mowed my lawn.

Obviously, I think it is silly for law enforcement resources to be wasted chasing stoners.

To gpatmac's question: I think it is extremely difficult for an individual to judge the long term effects. I've smoked it for about half my life now, I'm 34. My subjective opinion is that there have been two long-term negative effects, although not severe...yet:
- I feel I have a slightly reduced my overall ability to concentrate. When I don't use for 2-3 weeks I feel just a bit "sharper" mentally.
- smoking has weekened my bronchial tubes, I also smoked cigarettes for many years, so it's hard to seperate the effects. Along the same lines, I understand my risk of cancer and emphysema are higher because of my habits. This is why I quit the cigarettes and cut way back on the frequency of smoking herb.

MVWRX, No i am not wrong about the buzz at all. Infact a lot of people stray away from weed because it it "too easy" It has nothing to do with my tolerance what so ever. If you can deal better with being high over a period of time and learn to cope with matters more easily that doesnt mean that you are still not stoned. There is no midpoint with pot unlike beer. Yes you can have different affects while high but you can only get so stoned. Some people may not agree with this but if your up late and have been smoking all day then, and I am sure more then one person here knowns that you start to reach a point where you do not get the same kind of affects as the first time you smoked that day.
This is even more evident in things like mushrooms. When you first take them you will be able to trip. The second time around in the same day, taking the same amount has less of an affect. Your body gets used to it.

You make valid points, but the reason why I disagree is because you could take a toke from a bammer joint (Mexi weed) and not feel that loopty. There are definitely levels.

Now, on the other hand, if you took a bong rip of killer green bud, you'd probably skip the "buzz" state

When you work in neuroscience and understand how drugs work on the brain, I'll believe you. Until then, I'll believe me (who DOES work in neuroscience and understands how drugs work on the brain).

It is extremely evident that you don't know anything about drugs and their effects...read up or shut up.

Yeah, this guy is way off base (or on free base).

Seriously, I work in a neuorology lab...there is NO substance that works on the brain that DOESN'T have a spectrum of effects and a dose/effect curve or correlation.

Sorry buddy, hate to tell you. I am very fluent in the way pot works. I have no idea why you are getting so worked up over a comment. You are like a child trying to flex his muscles telling me that I don't know anything because I do not hold the same title as you. You have no idea how much I know about the drug nor do you know who I am. So before you run off into a tangent and make personal remarks you might wan't to consider not being such a douche. Have you ever considered that the drug does not work the same on everyone. I was speaking for myself. I am sure it works the same for others. I can't believe you threw the "title" card. Not only do I smoke great weed all the time, so there is def. not a midpoint for me there, but I have been doing so for a few years. I think that qualifies me to make a sound judgement on the way the drug works for me in my own body.
This was supposed to be a great post and great news, but now it's just a waste of my time. Before you reply next time, consider all points of view. Then you won't come off like a dick.

I really don't care if you think I'm a dick; and you don't have a clue on how pot (or any drug) works. That is very clear by now. If you did have a clue, you wouldn't make such rediculous claims like saying you can't get just buzzed off weed. I'm not the only one who has said you are wrong, because you ARE wrong. Don't be so hurt that you're wrong, it happens some times.

I didn't bring up my occupation to show you a 'title'. I brought it up because it is very relevant; I've been studying how drugs affect the brain for 2 years now. My title doesn't mean jack...but my experience on this subject does give me a hell of a lot of knowledge about how pot works compared to the average stoner.

I mean...you're telling me that 1 bong rip gets you as high as 4 bong rips? I doubt it. Why don't you try being honest with youself and admiting when you made a stupid claim next time...then you won't come off as a moron.

Wow. People can get very emotional about weed.

I wonder if this thread would be different if we were talking about cocaine?

Hahaha. You are a joke. Like I said before, the drug affects people in different ways. Not everyone is the same. Yes I have a lot of experience with the drug. Not only have I grown it indoors and out, but I have yielded clones and different strains with a higher THC level. So yes I know very very well. You can reply all you want but what I said is still correct. I think once again that you need to look at all the points of view. Different people, different affects. Very simple. Something you have overlooked. Don't take this as a pissing contest. It's not a personal attack. Let it go man and smoke one.

Then maybe it's alcohol you aren't very familiar with. You should try taking a small puff of weed some time, it gets you a similar level buzz as a beer at happy hour, which, for most, is legal for driving. Or maybe it's the alcohol that doesn't affect you?

BTW, why the hell would you brag about growing dope on the internet?!?

Talking

It's a good thing I smoked enough weed to get me really really high (as opposed to just getting buzzed from a pipe hit) this weekend...other wise I might still give a s*** about cyrus the confused weed grower.

You know, there is somethin comical about someone from Tennesee telling someone from NorCal about weed...
