Not one damn dime!

Some Democrats and Leftists actually think withholding money will have an impact when you’ll actually makeup consumption in the following days.

This is far worse than the gasoline boycott a few months back.

I don't know what's funnier... the idea or the fact someone devoted an internet server to the idea.

I want a hoho.

Things like this always seem so awesome like "YEAH, STICK IT TO THE ****IN MAN, UH, MAN!". But in the end its always like. "****, i need a hoho...". Great, all you did is delay the purchase of a hoho by, oh, 12 hours or so. WAY TO SHOW DUBYA.
bleh.

Salty, the irony is that by referencing their site you probably pushed their viewership rate up by a few percent:

true dat... i checked out their site and it looks pretty silly. I gather two people who have too much time on their hands came up with this "radical" "grass-roots" movement

Started by my generation, no doubt. The generation that thinks Che Guevara was a member of rage against the machine.

Too funny!

You actually think they believe they can bring the economy to it's knees in one day? It doesn't say anywhere on that site that this is their aim.

I don't think they actually believe they will bring the economy to it's knees, their goal is to merely express disagreement with the current state of things, and to try to get the attention of those in charge. I guess thy think other forms of protest are ignored... (and hey, I agree that this method is just as futile) But if nobody were to ever protest, people would be led to believe that Bush has the support of most of the country, when his approval rating is somewhere near %50 (a landslide, just like the election )

from the site:
"that's my reason for caring. I want to push Bush to listen to the millions of us who have protested and been ignored. I consider Bush's intentional ignoring of millions of voices the source of divisiveness in America today. Bush's attitude encourages otherwise good people to hate us protestors, to call us unpatriotic, and to think that we protestors are somehow on the side of the terrorists."

Could you be one of those 'otherwie good people'?

He'd ignore this too, and it would never work as the basic idea is too impractical. I drive the bridge - so i'd have to not go to work.
I really wish this would work - i really wish there was a way for us to express our ****ing anger with these *******s, but i don't think there is. Voting doesn't work, obviously. Neither do marches. Nothing works. We don't have any power. So, as much as i'd like to go along with one of these ideas - it ultimately leaves me feeling hopeless and depressed.
