That's generally not "one" IED. They daisy chain multiple Soviet artillery rounds together so they go off at the same time. Lost 6 of my friends in a Bradley that got hit in Taji. That being said though, you be amazed what soldiers can live through now. It's not uncommon to see a vehicle completely destroyed and have survivors. It makes for a lot of bad injuries though. Body armor and battle field medics can generally save you but you won't be the same.
