one story i read. a canadian woman has cancer. she's on a waiting list to see a specialist.

she's in pain. they give her oxycotin (S?P) for months.

so she gets her cancer treatment. now she's on another waiting list. for her addiction to oxycotin...

gotta love socialist health care...

i don't believe they turn away everyone. i know many illegal aliens who have received health care. most recently one of my co workers who was hit by a car the other week. he does not have any health care what so ever, and is not even here state side legally.

there are way more illegal immigrants that you can imagine. they're pretty much the reason why all our produce is so damn cheap. you think a white guy is gonna pick watermelons for the same price as someone from central america.

i don't see why it's my duty to call immigration anyway. if the authorities really wanted to do their job they would. all they have to do is go down oak st or even 3rd ave in sm and pick up all the day laborers.

You may think its a scam - perhaps. Still doesn't make his weight relevant....

And yes, they aren't perfectly documentary. They aren't supposed to be. He's trying to PERSUADE you of something, to present his version of the story. He may not be successful at it (clearly he isn't).

his "movies" are at most, semi documentary.

no im just making fun of him

he has some points, then turns it around with an extreme view.
if he just stepped back and said hey America check this out i would have soo much more respect for the guy.. but instead hes just out of control.

You're talking to a farmer. I assumed that since the man works with you, and you're at a computer, that he isn't in a field picking produce. So yes, I am assuming, again, that he is doing something that a white man could, or would, do.

I think he knows he's extreme. The problem is that MANY MANY people have said "hey America, check this out" is a less extreme way. They've been quite effectively ignored. At least this way, people pay attention, even if his style pisses them off.

^^i don't think a white person would do that. we for some reason are way to proud..

to me.. if you look at immigrants.. we should honor their willingness to work just to have money to be able to eat..

Maybe he should make another movie called "Fatso" with him starring. I'm sure he'll be one of the ppl benefiting/hurting from US health care soon enough..

hmmm.. i don't know where you jump to this conclusion. the guy i work with does not pick produce. a good friend of mine did a summer job picking watermelons. he was the only legal us citizen within the group of individuals he was working with.

none the less why don't you go out and do some of the jobs that most illegal immigrants do? pick produce, wash dishes in a restaurant, or even work in fast food. you're just gonna say you're too good for the job because you speak english, have an education, you would want to be paid more, and whatever else reasons you want to throw out there. by all means if you want to pay $5 for a head of lettuce so be it.

anyway this is way off topic from the original thread.

back to sicko now.

Actually, now that you mention it, a summer work program would be really good for some of these kids. It'll keep them off the street, out of trouble and pacify ppl who are arguing that illegals are taking their jobs, etc. It'll teach them the true value of a buck.

Did you not read my post?

Don't try to lecture me on doing jobs that most illegals do, I can almost assure you that I have more than you. Don't for one second think that I NEVER woke up at 5:30am to go out side to work on the farm to provide free labor for my father so that we could have food on the table. Don't think that I have not worked 14 hour days doing manual labor in sweltering heat along side of other laborers. I did NOT get special treatment when I was working out there. I know DAMN well what they go through on a daily basis. I grew around it my whole life. You want to know what California is going to look like in 30-40 years, go to my hometown, Winters, (if you can even find it) and look around. 65% of my town is Hispanic. I went to the same school and got the same education that the kids of all the farm laborers received.
