Michael Moore illegally offered food and clothing for votes
The good news: Moore bribed people for votes, violated Michigan's election law and may head to jail!

LANSING, Mich. (AP) -- The Michigan Republican Party is asking four county prosecutors to file charges against filmmaker Michael Moore, charging that he illegally offered underwear, noodles and snacks to college students in exchange for their promise to vote.
"We want everyone to participate in this year's election, but not because they were bribed or coerced by the likes of Michael Moore," said Greg McNeilly, executive director of the state Republican Party.
The GOP said it asked prosecutors in Wayne, Ingham, Antrim and Isabella counties to charge Moore with violating Michigan's election law. The law prohibits a person from contracting with another for something of value in exchange for agreeing to vote.

County prosecuters aren't taking this seriously.

"Although we are a small prosecutor's office, we are extremely busy prosecuting serious criminal activity," Burdick said in a letter addressed to Greg McNeilly, executive director of the state Republican Party. "...I choose to devote our resources to prosecuting those who are delivering cocaine to our young people rather than underwear."

That doesn't change the fact Moore broke the law and that the GOP may have prosecutors file charges eventually

The prosecuters have said they WON'T follow up on this.
Ya know, Salty, I can usually see your points, will respect your opinions, even if I don't agree with them, and am willing to put up with you telling people that they aren't paying attention. But you really need to pay attention yourself sometimes.
Moore's bribing students with underwear and ramen noodles is a joke! Neither Moore, nor the students, nor the county prosecuters take it seriously.

Furthermore, your quote says nothing about "WON'T" ....

Rewarding someone for registering to vote and rewarding them for voting a certain way are entirely different.
can't the republicans find better things to worry about?
after all, they are the ones who are promising thousands millions of dollars in continued tax cuts for the wealthy, which seems to me more like a bribe for voting a certain way.

Actually, it was the Associated Press. I just posted the one from his web page.
Is the AP a "dick" source?

Since, they don't consider it "serious criminal activity" they will not be prosecuting Moore, because "I choose to devote our resources to prosecuting those who are delivering cocaine to our young people rather than underwear."

On a side note, I thought this was pretty damn funny...
Moore said Republicans missed the "satire" of his giving underwear and food to get young people to vote.

Yes, giving tax cuts are a bribe to those that will benefit from said tax cuts.
However, the said can be said of Liberal bribes [aka "social" (dis)services].
And in America, I'd venture to guess that there are more people that will "benefit" from the Liberal, rather that the Conservative bribes.
But, of course, talking about the problems of Liberalism is verboten.

yawn... another pathetic red herring thrown out by the GOP to divert attention from the real issues this fall: the war and the crappy economy to name but a few
great, MM broke a law in his quest to stay in front of cameras. woopty do. this is Entertainment Tonight fodder, not political discourse material.

Is seems to me that bribing the rich is worse since it benefits fewer people... no?
