The mess that Greenspan made [Hummer]

The reason that the story of rapidly rising Hummer inventory is so interesting and so amusing, is that America's most ostentatious Sport Utility Vehicle, the Hummer SUV, is a metaphor for America in the world today - overweight, overpriced, inefficient, and unloved.

Hmmm. That guy doesn't sound very patriotic.

His metaphor is spot on.

Overweight? Yup
Overpriced? Why else would we be outsourcing so much!
Inefficiant? " "
Unloved? Yup.

Unloved? Yup.
Overweight, they are the heaviest in class. (I just looked at too many SUV's)
Overpriced? I see quite a bit of them. Do I think u should buy one? no
Outsourcing? Hummers are built in America.
Unloved? Apparently not, see above statement. Although I personally hate them. I hate the icon that they have become (black rappers, rolling on dubs)

The H1 is THE American Icon. The H2 was developed and sold by GM becuase they knew it would sell extremely quick and make them $$$. It still would be if gas wasn't high and the hurricane hadn't hit. Of course sales would have slowed down, but not as much as they did because of the previously mentioned.

You missed my point: I was speaking of both Hummers AND America

When Subaru can take a miserly compact and put a fat turbo on it, making for SUV-like fuel consumption, you know you have insane consumers when they sell like hot-cakes!

Ok, someone tell me what Greenspan has to do with this?
