For us it's the same thing with watching TV and eating dinner. We spend that time with the TV off together at the table as a family talking about our day. That continues to be a struggle, but I think it's important.
I won't have a problem talking about sex my daughter when it comes time. She's already had questions and we have discussed it without getting graphic. She has come to be comfortable asking questions and knowing she will get an answer, not just a, "because I said so".

The problem is without that communication foundation built, any touchy subjects will be hard. So few parents realize "because I said so" when used frequently as an answer will only lead to dangerous disrespect. Often this disrespect leads to babies with babies.
Nice. It's critically important and something that so few people do anymore.
