Ah yes. To you and me it isn't hypocrytical, but I can see how some would think it might be.

Personally, I'm going to try and bring the phrase "You're hurting america" into the American vernacular.

I don't understand how Jon Stewart thinks his show has little effect compared to non-comical media? Don't get me wrong, I like The Daily Show even though it has a touch of liberal influence to it, but to belittle his show as "just a comedy show" is laughable.

Damn near every hopeful candidate has sat their *** in that chair as part of their quest for the oval office. It's one of the most influential news sources for Generation "X" and Millennium people this decade and he thinks crossfire is ruining America because of partisanship? It's a known fact that Jon Stewart has a media bias against Bush and would give his right eye in order to slob Kerry and Alec Baldwin’s **** simultaneously . But his show has zero influence because it's just comedy?! That's the true comedy!

 

Jon would (and will) make fun of whoever is in our government doing stupid things. It's less about partisinship and more about making fun of the government for being so far removed from everyday life.

 

This is why I can tolerate watching the show. I understand they make fun of Kerry but they make fun of Bush and the GOP ten fold. Why? because being the President had always been an easy target for comics. Just look at SNL's Presidential skits for the past generation! They've had someone on their cast that could do Bush Sr., Clinton, Bush Jr. like clockwork. They can and do have a partisan influence on the millions of viewers (most likely between the ages of 18-35) that watch the show. Especially for large group of viewers that depend on The Daily Show for their news everyday at 11pm. Yes, they do exist...
