Dumb question: When watching these close Senate races, I'm curious, does a candidate win based on percentage or popular vote? Never really paid much attention to it before.
EDIT: Another one. When the Senate ends up being 49-49-2, Will VP Cheney offset that to the Repub side? Or who will "control the senate"?

Fox is reporting that Dems have won Montana and that the Dem leads in Virginia by 7800 votes or so. Both of the Independents will caucus with the democrats it is said.....

Politicians need to realize that America is neither liberal nor conservative, it is everything all at once. Victory for one side of the aisle is not always a defeat for the other, and vice versa.

I don't think it would be a good idea for the democrats to try to impeach bush... especially if they are looking to take over the presidency in 2008... I think it would do them more harm then good... just my opinion

I don't believe President Bush is guilty of "high crimes and misdemeanors." Impeachment would accomplish nothing... especially since it would only result in President Cheney...

And to me the democrats will lose some of their right wing support they have going for them right now. If the dem's just bounce off the first thing and try to impeach bush, the weary right wing people will just think the dem's aren't out to help the people they just want to get Bush impeached, they don't care about the war etc etc. and they will lose support, along with other things. I just don't think they will gain anything from impeaching bush

Hahaha...yeah I know...we learned that leason from the GOP, remember? Unless you think impeaching Clinton somehow DID help us all...
hopefully you caught that I wasn't serious at all...the last thing the country needs is another publicity type political manuver right now.

Clinton's impeacment was ridiculous. And like I've said, I just hope this Congress can maybe worry less about political positioning and recent history, and more about the issues acing us in the immediate future and how to deal with them.
