Dude if you think California is bad you should try spending some time in other states.

California is one of the freest states there is, you can read or post articles anywhere but day to day life if you think California is cutting back your freedoms compared to other US states you are gravely mistaken.
Please tell me how we're more free? As far as I'm concerned with my hobbies like cars and firearms...it seems like a pretty crap state to me and many others. There's just so much socialist BS that doesn't make sense in this state.

I think you should be able to have ammo, but I agree tracking it is good.

If you could only buy a certain ammo and then be allowed to buy at the shooting range?

But there is nothing wrong with tracking ammo.

I find it funny that most of the people who freak out about anything restricting their guns, but have no problems with what the government has done as far as phone records blah blah, home land crapsecurity and all the lame **** that has happened. Just sad, that being said everyone should be able to have a gun to protect themselves. Although I do think certain weapons do deserve some restrictions,

im not taking sides as I know neither person, however objectively speaking........

living in sf>living in fremont or San JO

Taken below from one of my other forums. I found a new hobby and hope to progress with it in the future, but maybe I can't in California. I'm sure people like Daniel and Egan are well aware of this, but **** like this makes me glad I'm going to move OUT of this piece of **** socialist anti-anything state.

Hatteroo.
1. Wow.. you said it...

2. Don't be so certain you're leaving. Most of the folks in my office are from Cali... (Though most of those are from SOCAL) The other guy in my shop-there are two of us that do what I do. is from Vallejo..the guy that sits across from us is from Hercules.. got a girl from SanJose and a guy from LA.. the list goes on.

Joining up will probably just get you a year or so vacation..

The question is what good is it going to do? Criminals don't legally obtain firearms so what good is tracking ammunition sales to law abiding citizens when the criminals will just be criminals and obtain it through other avenues? And the criminalization of private party ammunition transfers? HA, another useless, un-enforceable law to add to the already mile long list of their brethren.

The reason for the outrage is simple: CA is a gun grabbing state run by knee jerk liberal loons. Emotion trumps logic in this state, bottom line. Their plan is simple, they can't ban firearms, but they can make it so frustrating to own and shoot them that they hope they'll disappear. But, once again, the problem lies in that CRIMINALS DON'T GIVE A **** ABOUT GUN LAWS. The only people who these laws are the people who actually follow them. I can't for the life of me understand what about this concept is so hard for people to grasp.

.....maybe if I drank the liberal fantasy land kool aid I'd get it.

What he said and add in another simple answer..
Cost. With California going broke.. who pays for these laws?
How much you think it costs to maintain an Assualt weapons registry?
Enforcement costs? Court costs? Administrative costs? Look at all the money that goes to enforcing the laws already on the books for this state. Now you want to track ammunition too?

I won't even get into the difficulty in actually enforcing the law, and assuming you could track each round purchased, what happens when someone steals a handful of brass from the local range to scatter at the crime scene??

California is the like the 6th largest economy in the world, but is broke as **** because they can't stop spending money on stupid liberal social experiments..

Step 28 at succeeding in life: Don't **** off the people with guns.

Unfortunately/ or fortunately for those in charge. Gun owners are a notoriously well behaved group of people.

If we were 1/10,0000th the threat the lib-tards thought we are we'd have already killed them all and California would have machine gun shoots like Arizona, and Texas.

Unfortunately most of the PRKs gun owners will be angry, stomp their feet... And then comply with the law... some may move to America..(most likely Oregon, Idaho, Arizona, or Colorado. Most will stay and buy ammo the new way..

I may see em on The High Road, talking about how California's weather makes up for the politics.

Screw it, I'm going to quit my job and be a hippie. Maybe then I'll understand the insanity. Or at least it will benefit me somehow instead of just making life suck a little more.

+1 for living on the government tit

Funny thing about those hippies, they are/were all for freedom and less government, but they're one of the main groups voting to take our freedoms away via babysitter type government law.

I guess it's just the freedoms they agree with.

just ban

Just ban guns completely and go find another freaking hobby...
Honestly, what good does a gun do for an individual except get some anger out at the shoot range? HOw many stories have you heard where someone says, " The gun I own saved my life because I was able to use it on some criminal that broke into my house trying to hurt my family"? I would say very freakin slim compared to hOw many innocent lives have been taken?

Once you lose someone very close to you, you'll understand. I lost my best friend a few months ago in S.f. (irving pizza shooting). Stray bullet to the head, So excuse my language, but F**K guns completely.

Oh, and talk about an expensive hobby. Hell, I rather throw my money on a hot stripper then have a gun collection (IMO). Not trying to offend any gun collectors on here because we already know there are a few.
