In light of this, many firearms will be field stripped, cleaned, and oiled tonight.

Here's the best part of San Francisco's anti-gun initiative. It's not a law. The NRA has already said that it's going to challenge it in court (lawsuit). So this stupid vote they had is going to end up costing the city a ton in legal fees. That's money they don't have right now. Sure, Arnold's shindig cost tax payers money but SF is now no different with this endeavor.

What I don't get is that SF boasts that it is tollerant of all life-styles. But if yours involves owning or collecting guns legally as a law biding citizen (criminals still have access), then you're scum? ****ing teen boys in the *** with a left turn into a dirty sanchez? Hey, no prob... here's a straw. (not that I care about what that lifestyle does which is exactly my point).

This bill WILL be overturned. What's funnier the NRA will bring San Franfreako to court and pretty much bunkrupt thier treasury. Good thing all the pinkos are in favor of tax hikes. Morons!!!

Salty wins best post of the day! :rotfl: I couldn't agree more. Though I generally consider myself a Liberal, I'm also for reducing the government's conrol in most situations, which would serve a dual purpose here. Gays should be allowed to do whatever they want with their lives (marriage) without the government butting in, just as legal/licensed gun owners should be able to persue their hobby without the government butting in. Why can't the extreams of either side see that they are no better than the other?

So lame.

If I lived in S.F. i'd never hand over my guns.

If I learned that they were going to come up with some sort of special gun control unit that went door to door collecting and arresting, I'd file a police report for burglary. All my guns would mysteriously get swiped.

Bad guys don't have legal guns.

I know that taking guns away won't neccesarily take the guns out of the hands of criminals. But I realized one thing that it DOES allow. If someone is stopped or questioned because they are around a crime or may be a suspect or whatever, and a gun is found in their possesion or in their home, then there's another charge to bring on them and (if neccesary) a great excuse to arrest and detain them for further questioning.
