cracks me up that everyone thinks this is bleeding edge tech...

any douchebag with a bit of money could have bought the same images 5-10 years back...

this isnt supa secret stuff.. hell any douche rocket with a bit of engineering school, some rc parts and a camera can do something similar now a days..

Not true of Area 51, it still has armed guards roaming about a 50 mile radius perimeter, you'd need a pretty hefty estes rocket to fly that far- and it is still bigtime restricted airspace.

Although the Russians have been selling sattelite images of it for about 5 years now.

And 5-10 years ago some of these SR-71's were being used, so they might not have been on display.

What worries me is these pantywastes whining about how "terrorists might use it", before we know it, everything we do will become illegal because "terrorists might use it"

Yeah, totally. There are a lot of ppl that try to get close and take pictures, I think it would be kinda cool to see how far u can get before you're sighted. Probably not very far at all.

I'm pretty sure they have some types of ground sensors, but I think if you're willing to army crawl, you might be able to get a decent ways. At least a couple miles past the 50 mile perimeter.

I was stopped from using the first-class bathroom on United for this very reason: I was a "security threat"!
