And, yeah, its funny but also really sad. Now that the election is said and done, I have talked to a lot of people about who they voted for and why. I find it interesting that most of the people that I grew up with, went to school with, or have worked with who voted for Obama really knew nothing about what he stands for. Still, I wish the best for him and our country, but I think he has his own somewhat socialist agenda, which is frightening. Point is, record numbers of younger voters made it out to vote this year, mostly because it was the "cool" or "in" thing to do. Hopefully all will turn out well. Off topic I know, but Im still a little bu**hurt.

And he can require that you not own a gun. He can make virtually any requirements he wants, hence the 63 question application. It's obvious he's trying to avoid anyone with bad history. But our beloved right wingers just love to insinuate and imply things that aren't there. What's the new conservative moto?.... "When we're not in charge, be afraid!"

If there's one thing that you can count on for conservatives, it's fear.
1. That's no new motto lol
2. That's the motto of ANY party that is not in charge.

Do you think it's right for Obama to eliminate an applicant because he/she owns a firearm? (w/o any negative history using it)

I'd like to see how anyone could prove that he is using that question to weed out applicants. You don't KNOW that he's going to reject ever person that says yes. He looking for people to be honest about being owners, you know the background checks on those applicants is going to show legal owners...

i'm sure he would qualify for, and get, a security clearance. i know people with criminal records who have gotten a top secret.

A lot of the questions are simply a barometer to see how honest the applicant is.
Do you mean like if you would deny knowing someone you've known for like 20 some years?

Or if you have anything that would be considered conflict of interest..
ie.
Links to groups that would advocate (or carry out) the violent overthrow of US government, or blood relatives that are party members in other countries that may not be allies to the US.

Maybe links to groups that seek to deprive some US persons of Constitutional rights?

Ignorance won the day..

Actually the funny thing wasn't that there was record turnout.. (there wasn't Total numbers went up only 1%.

What we saw instead was several Republicans not showing up..

As a side note.
I knew quite a few people who didn't agree with O on most issues, yet voted for him anyway..

One very recent one at that

I believe the questions being asked are to make sure that 2 years from now people won't have any dirt to dig up on his cabinet. I think Obama knows better than most about how damaging any piece of dirt can be in politics. Though I think this will be the least of his worries.

Oh you mean the really important national security questions..

Where you bought that great suit? Diamonds or Pearls? Where is your favorite place to body surf? Do you prefer MTV or MTV 2?

You know the tough questions asked to Democratic Candidates this election year..

I asked a question. I didn't say that's my opinion. Read it more carefully so you don't assume what I am asking is my point of view unless I indicate it clearly please THX

Should have said "We" and not "You" and then I agree with you
