Democratic National Convention
Hey I just fixed the HTML tags on my last reply, I answered some of your original question.
Yes, I do remember. Clinton was very popular and no matter how many bad things he did, the Dems always covered it up and made him seem like a great person.

Yeah, your right. They're all a bunch of Scheisty bastards but I think that Dems surely take the cake. The thing is that when a Dem is accused of something they always throw up the Mcarthanism (spell?) BS flag. They've been using that crap since Mcarthy found out that most democratic cabinet members were Russian spies (i.e. Alger Hiss [spell?]) and the Democrats have never wanted to acknowledge it. Remember the Nevona project?
[Please excuse my poor spelling, due to "spell check" I've become complacent..LOL)

MonkeyAB, i've said it numerous times here on I-Club that people with a non-military background have no idea how awards can be easily had with a DA form 638 based on AR 600-8-22 (or DoD/Branch equivalent). It's very simple... all you need is a whinning, kissass officer (Kerry) who encourages other officers to put him in for award(s) after writing the orders (those or valor & courage) with his own black pen. I've seen it with my own two eyes a few times!
"Look sir, I got another small splinter... errr... piece of shrapnel stuck in me. Is this good enough for a PH?"
Meanwhile, other Vietnam soldiers are sucking up the bullet wound and carrying on with the mission only to see a medic later at the patrol base. No medals for many of these men because their motives were different... they had a war to fight.

Kerry was in-country less than four months and collected, a Bronze Star,
a Silver Star and three purple hearts. I never heard of anybody with any
outfit I worked with (including SEAL One, the Sea Wolves, Riverines and the
River Patrol Force) collecting that much hardware so fast, and for such
pedestrian actions. The Swifts did a commendable job. But that duty wasn't
the worst you could draw. They operated only along the coast and in the
major rivers (Bassac and Mekong). The rough stuff in the hot areas was
mainly handled by the smaller, faster PBRs.
The details of the event for which he was given the Silver Star make no
sense at all. Supposedly, a B-40 was fired at the boat and missed. Charlie
jumps up with the launcher in his hand, the bow gunner knocks him down with
the twin .50, Kerry beaches the boat, jumps off, shoots Charlie, and
retrieves the launcher. If true, he did everything wrong.
Kerry got off the boat. This was a major breach of standing
procedures. Nobody on a boat crew ever got off a boat in a hot area. EVER!
The reason was simple. If you had somebody on the beach your boat was
defenseless. It couldn't run and it couldn't return fire. It was stupid and
it put his crew in danger. He should have been relieved and reprimanded. I
never heard of any boat crewman ever leaving a boat during or after a
firefight.
Something is fishy.

If you think i'm blowing smoke then i have nothing for you. I will tell you that i have nothing to gain from either candidate and believe they're both for ****. However, i will never lie about what i've said here... I know a lot of Veterans that feel the same way about this sensitive subject too.

You make a very good and interesting argument. I heard on the radio just minutes ago that a man named Van O'Dell was saying the same thing you are. He served with Kerry and he doesn't see him fit to be commander in chief. This man is speaking his mind and so are you.
Howerver, the bottom line remains.
Wether Van O'Dell, you or anyone else thinks Kerry is a weenie and Bush is a cowboy. Kerry was there. Yes he wasn't special forces running in the jungle giving away all his rations to villagers. While Kerry was on his swift boat doing a crappy job as you have all but proven with these highly reliable sources. Bush was in the USA not reporting for duty for the Texas Air National Guard.

Didn't you get the memo that Bush was with the CIA in the early 1970s instead of the ANG? I guess we'll have to find his records... oh nevermind...
