He also voted for a bill that made it legal for ex-mil and ex-police to carry concealed. Which is good. Either way from what I gather so far he votes not so much along party lines and more for what just makes sense. Again I think the positives outweigh the negatives.

Lets be realistic though. What will life be like under Hillery?

The U.S. Senate has voted 55-43 to accept an amendment to S.A. 3, the "Legislative Transparency and Accountability Act", removing an onerous proposal that would have drastically limited the First Amendment rights of Americans in the political process. Offered by Sens. Robert Bennett (R-Utah) and Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), the amendment removed Section 220 that would have forced ordinary citizens to register with the federal government as "lobbyists," with all the attendant restrictions, costs, and penalties.

"The First Amendment protects an unqualified 'right of the people to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.' That is a sacred right of the American people." said NRA-ILA Executive Director Chris W. ***. " Sec. 220 would have, for the first time in American history, severely regulated and restricted 'the voluntary efforts of members of the general public to communicate their own views on an issue to Federal officials.'

"On behalf of 4 million NRA members and tens of millions of gun owners, hunters, and sportsmen across the country, I want to thank Senators Robert Bennett and Mitch McConnell for their leadership in preserving political free speech for all," concluded ***. "We are also grateful to the 53 other senators who voted for the Bennett-McConnell Amendment."

While this was no doubt a victory for NRA, gun owners, and freedom, enemies of the First and Second Amendments are alive and well in the 110th Congress, and no doubt will continue to assault our rights. Our thanks to all of you who contacted your U.S. Senators on this most important issue.
I like the way some of you guys make it seem like we have a only have a choice between the **** and Obama. If those were the only choices, I think this little deal that the **** and her camp brought forward will kill the chance of a democrat victory now.

I suppose you're right that the gun laws still don't prevent me from owning at least one firearm capable of shooting Tyrone when he tried to steal my stereo. Why doesn't the gay couple move? You don't need to be married to express ones love for each other just as I don't need an assault rifle. It's more a matter of principle which is why i'm not entirely against gay marriage. Slowly taking away a law biding American's arms is one of the most unAmerican things I can think of.

Hey I'm with you 100%, I just don't think it is as bad as the NRA makes it out to be. Being raised as a hunter and in Michigan I guess I have a differerent perspective being that I have never seen government really try to take away my guns. It would never fly in this state because of the huge hunting populous.
Sure they made it harder for people to get a handgun but who cares? Ultimately if you have no problems passing a background you can get a handgun. Isn't that the way it should be anyways? I mean thats just common sense to me. They may take away assault rifles but it really doesn't affect me as I already said.

But realistically who else would there be? John Edwards? Kerry again? These two are the front runners and Hillery may have just killed the dems chances with this little background check. But you have to believe that it would have came out sooner or later. I just don't think she has a snowballs chance in hell to win the general election come november.

I will give you one guarantee......................................... .................A dem will win the primary

It was a public school in Jakarta that he went to.

For what it's worth in the statement he made about the muslim schooling thing he said he wasn't raised a muslim nor was he ever a practicing muslim. He had two years in catholic school in indonesia before his father couldn't afford it anymore and that is when he went to the public school that was predominantly muslim.

He also belongs to a non-denomonational church in Chicago.
