Is this a case of double speak?

Now over the last few years I have had to listen time and time again about the religion of peace, blah blah blah.Much of this came from anti-war, anti bush, anti US peeps. I never bought it. Now let's say that I did buy into the religion of peace bit. Would I care about a presidential hopefull, possibly having ties to islam. No I don't think I would.
Apparently the Clinton camp is feeling the proverbial sword. Apparently they feel Obama and his ties to Islam must be made public.
Do you think this will be an issue in the primary? Do you think voters can see this game Clinton is playing? Do you think Obama can profit form this?

seriously though, the first time i heard the guys name i figured he had some kind of muslim background.

zumnwrx 01-20-2007 09:54 PM

republicansFTW :D

HellaDumb 01-21-2007 09:03 AM

His middle name being pushed to the forefront is the worst thing that's ever happened to his political career.... oh and attending a muslim school.

The Islamic Candidate starring Sen. Barack Hussein Obama...in theatres now!!

FW Motorsports 01-21-2007 10:17 AM

But what's even funnier is the obvious dichotomy this presents the Liberal Socialist Democrats:

Do I vote for a white corrupt ****, showing that this woman can suck seed, I mean succeed?

or

Do I vote for a black man, that just so happens to a Muslim, a religion that happens to be waging 14 wars around the war, showing that Islam is the religion of peace?

Hmmmmmmmmm.................

I think Hillary is realizing how much of a lead he has taken and she's going to do everything possible to get his numbers down. I don't care if he had some muslim schooling. It wouldn't affect my vote for him.

This is exactly the case. I tend to think that the time spent at Columbia and Harvard Law will *slightly* outweigh ;) his 4 years under the age of 10 spent at a muslim school in indonesia. But whatever. All this just proves that the man has a much more worldy up bringing than any of the other democratic candiates.

Also just solidifies my utter hatred for Hillery and her camp.....

But remember, he's staunchly anti gun.
Can't vote for anyone that's anti gun.

He may be anti-gun in some situations but I think so far the positives far outweigh the negatives. Besides REAL anti-gun legislation will never get passed. The NRA will have you believe that if a democrat get elected they are going to come to your house the next day and get all your guns but that will never happen. Sure assault rifles may get banned again but so what? I'm already grandfathered in so who cares. ;)

And he has voted against the anti-gun crowd on certain things.

That's the dangerous difference between Dems and Reps as Presidents.

Anti-gun libs and dems vote for their candidate and the Dem President eventually pushes real anti-gun legislation. A lot of these laws influence ridiculous laws at the state level too that really stack-up against law biding gun owners.

On the other hand you have modern day Religious-Right. Yes, they spark a lot of the controversy, are the backbone for many issues and the reason why a God fearing Republican candidate gets elected. But now many things do they influence that actually materializes? Not many. Abortion is still legal and at the end of the day if i'm gay I can get married in another nearby state and go back to my native state. Try doing that after purchasing some types of firearms.

All this coming from the guys that live in Kalifornia. If the anti-gun laws effected you guys so much why wouldn't you move?

The easy answer is that it doesn't affect you that much. You chose to complain about it but a real easy solution exists for you Kalifornians.....Move to Arizona....When I lived in Tucson you could carry openly on the streets.

Because I was born here and this is my home.

I'm a native of the once great state of Kalifornia.
The day I turned 18, I went down to the local Big 5 and bought my first gun.
Paid cash, filled out some paperwork & took it home that day.
Any person or politician that wants to restrict my right to own a gun will not get my support.
Period.

I will not move because politicians criminalize my rights.

Obama wanted to pass a bill that would remove the defense of "self defense" from people that used a fire arm, even if it was in their own home, if a local firearm ordinance was violated.
Meaning that if the town I lived in, in Obamaland, had a no pistols ordinace, and I used a pistol to defend myself in my own house, I would become the criminal.

And for what it's worth, the NRA is far too Left Wing for my liking.
