Uh, right. You use the voting demographics for Arnold as your proof that the state is indeed conservative?
Arnold was elected at a time when Bill O'Reilly would have swept the polls. Davis pissed off so many people that you had a lot of folks voting against their own representative party.

My point is that California is far more moderate than Conservative or Liberal.
It's just that we hear more about the liberal side because they belong to the Democrat majority that's undoubtedly present here in Ca.
We'll gladly accept a Rep. Governor who we think can get the job done here at home but like our Presidents to have a liberal flair.

NOOO! Good lord...democrats are liberal...it's only recently that 'liberal' has taken on this wierd bad connotation. Anything left of the very very center is liberal...anything to the right, conservative. There is no middle party. Therfore democrats are liberal (even if they are only a little liberal) and republicans are conservative (even if only a little).
You can be liberal on some issues and conservative on others, but the vast majority of people will be one or the other on the vast majority of issues.
Moderates are those from each party or side who are only slightly liberal or slightly conservative; there is no moderate party, and even those who are called moderates always have either a liberal or conservative leaning.

Anything left of the very very center is Democrat. Always has been... and I pray for the sake of the nation that it remains this way. I'm honestly considering voting for one in 2008 IF they don't have any liberal baggage.
I strongly suggest you brush up on the history of the Democratic party. Simply put, if it wasn't for the fact the Democratic party shares a few views with liberals & swings for the same team only because the Democratic party has worthwhile strength to go up against Republicans, then Liberals would have their own powerless ****-ant party way out in the boondocks. You’re just a leech to a party that already has a foot in the door.
Same thing holds true for Right-wing Conservatives and the Republicans who are slightly right from center.

The above is your interpretation of the words 'liberal' and 'conservative'. Liberal is a discriptive word, not a catagory or group like democrat. Liberal is the word used to describe a political policy that takes a loose (liberal) interpretation of the constitution...basically it says things that aren't specifically mentioned in the constitution are implied and that we should interperet the document to apply to the modern time. Conservative describes the idea that the constitution should be taken exactly word for word, with no adaptation for changing times, and nothing that isn't written in it specifically can be implied. This difference is the root of all of the differences between democrats and republicans. Reps: anything not covered by constitution=states decide...dems:feds can use constitution for power. Reps: no social welfare built into constitution=none offered by gov't; dems: there is room to interperet that the fed gov't should provide help to its citizens, so feds should supply social welfare...etc, etc.
Democrat is the name of the liberal party in America. Republican is the name of the conservative party in America. Period.
Now if YOU personally think liberal is a bad thing, and that it means FURTHER left than democrat, then you are mistaken.

I'm open to discussion if you have a legitimate, specific problem with my claims about the terms liberal and conservative...but you don't.

This "everything goes" form of liberalism is what is wrong with liberals today. Conservatives are trying to best preserve the intent of the constitution, and help protect it from becoming a free for all.

1)humping in the street: noone ever claimed this to be a right, regardless of political leaning, as far as I know
2)Christ and religion should be forcably removed from schools, and the allowance to everyone is that they may practice their religion during break times. Simple enough, I'm sure you get it.
3)Gay marriage isn't the purest union (we all know noone's said that), but it is no more unpure than straight marriage...equall rights for everyone, rememeber?
4)Abortion rights ARE civil rights, especially in relation to these new cases about notification. The right of a woman to choose and not be required to share her most personal decision goes right along with the constitutions promise of an expectation of privacy
5)There's nothing in any document about colons or enemas as far as I know.
ALL of these issues/judgements have to do with your personal values and ideals...but the constitution says we (those who are not you) do not have to be repressed by your idea of what right and wrong are. And more insults...I must really tick you off huh...
