Let's not forget this: Joe Biden has Trent Lott moment

Mr. Biden is equally skeptical—albeit in a slightly more backhanded way—about Mr. Obama. “I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy,” he said. “I mean, that’s a storybook, man.”

Biden has no chance anyway. It's Hillary or Obama.
It raised an interesting question in my mind though- if Obama is elected, could he possibly be President Obama, or would we think of him simply as "the black president?" I would hope that he would have the chance to develop his own legacy on his own merit.
Parallel: Lovie Smith and tony Dungy are the first black head coaches to reach the Super Bowl. It's gettign mentioned, but not heavily leaned on, and I find that encouraging. It's a noteworthy story, but there's not much else to say beyond mentioning it. I'd like to think that when we finally get a President who is not white or not male or not christian, it will be noteworthy, but not an endless source of discussion and debate at the expense of mor relevant topics.
