My friend once had to call 911 because someone was shooting at his house in Galt. Even though he is armed and skillful he knew the right thing to do was call the cops. His house was technically in the country but the PD station is only 3 minutes away.

He could hear two bullets knock the side of his house. After being on hold for 5 minutes the operator asked stupid questions like "how do you know they're shooting at your house?" and "why are they shooting at your house?" Then after that it took like 15 minutes for Galt cops to show. I can see why, though... there is a ton of real crime going on in Galt.


I've tried to turn in drunk drivers before, one of which was on the sidewalk on Sunrise off White Rock. Even after deciding to follow the extremely intoxicated driver while on hold I couldn't maintain my pursuit any longer because I began to feel in jeopardy myself. He must ahve known I was in pursuit of him because he made some u-turns on reds. I stayed on the phone and finally got through but I was back on my original course for home. I could only give a general description and location of where I last saw the vehicle about 5 minutes ago. Unreal. I don't even bother anymore. Instead I recognize the driver's behavior and avoid.

Sorry, I have a $2000 surcharge for getting that close to LA unless I'm going to Disneyland. And that surcharge goes up to $5000 during baseball season which is the soonest I could get down there.

Well, unlike the Yankees of the West - we aren't going shell out the millions and millions of dollars for Manny.

But to re-live the glory days I am going to SBC Park on Saturday to see Will Clark and the new head of our franchise - Tim Lincecum.
