But why say it then? Information like this is just going to bury him deeper and deeper when told to a jury. I think it's gotten to the point where these guys know they really have nothing to loose anymore and are gloating to point out how they beat the USA's security... which doesn't say much these days, unfortunately.

 

No we can't. Good question. I think either he knows he's fuct though and just wants to rub it in everyones face, or he really is just a retarded pawn (like his defense portrays him) being used by al quaeda, and making himself to be more important than he actually is.

 

Maybe somekind of deal? ...who knows... In a way, publicizing this works for the admin. in that it represents 'progress' in the war on terror and brings the 'threat' back into the news.... just an unlikely conspiracy theory, I know... but it is an example of thwarting a potential horrific episode... which is always a good relection on the war, even if it was the initial incitement...

I think you hit the nail on the head- after hearing more on the story, the consp. theory is out of the question- I can't tell what motivates him to change his story, besides just f'ing with us... I heard what he said was done in a place and time which can't be admissable, but it sure made the news anyway... probably his intent.
