Thanks Pat.
looking at the wear pattern of my front tires, I will take your advise and check everything. I'm getting new tires soon so it'll be perfect time for me.
I remember with my Miata when i had the rear toe out it was too darty for my taste. ...remember the first version of 4 wheel steering on Preludes? I didnt like that much.

Jaxx,
how's your setting for tire wear? (you probly dont care much for that... pretty damn aggressive settings.)

I'm running -1.3 front camber (eccentric bolts maxed out), -1.3 rear (non adjustable- you can make small corrections to even out left/right by loosening up everything and either pushing or pulling like a B****!- I've moved it a tenth or two w/ this). Caster (non-adj) is 3.6 left/right. I'm running 0 toe front/rear. If autoxing, a little ( 1/16- 1/8 th) toe out front/rear will help turn in, track would be better w/ 0 toe (or even slight toe in).

I will likely pony up to MRT (or someone elses) camber/caster plates and run about 4 degrees caster and -2.0 - -2.5 camber front for the upcoming autox season.

Thanks again.

Roger that. With that in mind then I definitely think more camber would be in order up front, and that's something I want to try eventually. From what I've read some of the other track ****** run in the -2.5 to -3.0deg camber up front. I'm not sure what would work best in the rear, but having the pyrometer to do real testing is the way to figure that out. I haven't gotten that advanced yet.

I ran the Streets earlier this year during the Open Track Challenge. Pretty fun track. We ran the Bowl turn and the skidpad (so I think that's the longest course layout possible), my best lap was a 1:40.882 on Yoko A032Rs. That was my best in 2 20-min sessions, having never been to the track before.

At one of my first track events, before I really appreciated all this stuff, I was running with the same alignment I had been using for auto-x. This was back when I had my '99 2.5GT, which had a stock suspension, 18mm rear sway bar, and I was running some pretty good toe out. At the end of the front straight when I hit the brakes the tail would step out a little bit, enough that I actually would counter-steer slightly. At the time I didn't really understand what that was all about, but now I do, and I know I don't like it when it does that!

I would like to try the same. I have some Cusco plates, but never got them installed, and now they're trapped in my household goods shipment (Navy just moved me out here to Hawaii). I think I'd like to get some plates that allow caster adjustment, too - more positive caster on a McPherson strut car is almost always a good thing. There was a pretty big thread on the other board about the MRT plates, and guys seemed to be pretty impressed by the difference another 1.5 or 2deg of positive caster made.
