Question Weird behavior in wet

My Legacy does this weird thing when it's raining. It happens when driving freeway speeds then slowly slowing down, like half brake pedal depression. The symptoms are a grinding-like feel, accompanied by a loud grinding or rubbing sound. It comes from the front left only, and braking ability doesn't seem to be affected. I took it to the dealer the other day, but it wasn't raining so they couldn't duplicate it.

Anybody have any input as to what this is?? Thanks!

PS. It's not the ABS, it doesn't happen under hard braking.

warped rotars? check your brake lining, and the rotar to see if they are grooved/gouged

Thanks, will check. But why would it only happen in the rain?

Do you have new pads since the last rainy season?

No, never had new brakes, 36k miles on the OEM's.

I've since been told the wheel bearings are fine and the brake pads still have plenty life left. In fact they've got 90% depth left compared to the 70% I had left at my 30k checkup. Why don't they ACTUALLY measure that instead of eyeballing it? I've read 3mm left is not good, so I'm going to get in there myself and see how much of the pads really are left. I just haven't had the opportunity to get under the car lately.

Thanks for the input guys.
