I just wanted to tell you all that I am the new owner of a JDM STi Spec-C suspension consisting of struts, springs, and strut tops. I got it at a great price, $580, off of www.JDMPARTSTX.com these guys really help out with any and every question you have, now all I am doing is looking forward to putting them in !!!

Congrats!!! I recently got some v8's for my 02 WRX and they made a really sweet difference in handling. You'll love em.
(I have upgraded front/rear sway bars too)
If you're installing them yourself.
1) have another set of hands around, makes it a whole lot easier
2) get a breaker bar (those bottom bolts are on TIGHT)
3) beer makes it a little more relaxing
Took me and a couple friends about 2 1/2 hours. We certainly didn't rush it at all.
Enjoy man, you'll love it. They will be a bit bouncy, but you'll stop being bothered by that the first time you rip a corner.. mmm.

Yes I believe the wheel base is a little longer but the suspension plays a part, and it is still the same set up
Yes I am doing it myself and I have another friend who is also a mechanic, we are gonna order a pizza do the fronts, eat and drink, do the rears, simprify and then test drive

Thanks

The word is : They look really sweet sitting on my floor! Cone springs, special dampening rates, extremely hard strut hats. . . . I am working EVERY DAY this week and next I am supposed to have off, so hopefully next week we will set sail on my journey.
I did hear from a friend from Japan that you can turn on a dime and feel if its heads or tails

i just put mine on and i have to say WHAT A DIFFERENCE!! very much worth it, and i think i'll be happy with this setup
fedex came in the morning and as soon as i got home from work, my friend and i put them on with little effort.
in retrospect, i would suggest getting a large pipe to use as a breaker bar for the lower nuts that hold the strut to the rear hubs, it was a pain in the ***. but wd40 helped a bunch
sorry for the hijack, just had to put in the old .02

Tools are no problem for me, my dad was a mechanic for about 15 years of his life so we have enough tools to be 2 race teams. Cheers

can any of you guys post pictures of your car with the Spec C struts and springs?
I want the spec C suspension but i want to keep the aggressive look that i have right now.
do any of you reccommend using aftermarket springs as well?

UPDATE: Just installed today, at MPJ, Gino and mark are great guys to go to for installs in the Bay Area.
The car rides like it is on rails, there is no body roll any more, squat and lift has been dramatically reduced almost to zero.
The ride is not as harsh as I suspected it would be, a bit bumpy at times, but I wouldn't trade this for the world.
The reason I would stay with this setup as it is, because the dampening rates were tuned by STi to have a certain effect on this car, and if you add anything else to it, the mix may get all jacked up.
I will post pics tommorow morning, the ride is not low at all but it feels low, and it saved my life once since I put it on so I am happy about it.
Much love for Spec-C

PM Sent, if you haven't noticed, subarus are like legos, anything can go anywhere, suspension is no different, everything is that 3-2 bolt setup so it all works out.
Cheers
