Track racing for 04' wrx - need help
I would like to use my wrx as a weekend track car and im trying to figure out a good suspension combination before i dump all sorts of money into it. I was wondering what you guys think of the KYB shocks with the STi springs. Also do you think a rear strut would be worth while? If anybody knows a better suspension combination i would like to hear it please. Thanks

if cash is not an issue, I would get the whiteline coil overs.
If money is an issue, I would get some helix DNA coil overs, or kyb agx/springs(prodrive or usdm sti pinks)/and some front top mounts with camber/caster adjustment, and rear camber bolts.

Thanks for the suggestions except, you really think i should mess with the camber? remember this is my daily driver. Also money is an issue since im only 17 so the kyb's sound good to me. Do you happen to know a site that sells them at a good price?

Sway bars help a lot with reducing body roll, I am running the Cobb front and rear and love them!
I got my KYB AGX struts from cvrmotorsports.com for $400 which is about $100 less then most vendors.
Only thing you'll have to do with the 04 top mounts in the rear is add 3 grade 8, 9/16" inner diameter, 1-1/4" out diameter washers to both rear struts, then they will fit perfect, and helps level out the front fender gap look.
If you have a wagon, then camber plates up front are a must since the front struts are actually for a different subaru wagon and will add possitive camber.
Here are some pics of my setup:

Let me know if you need some of the washers, I had to go to a fastener shop to get them and they had a mimimum of $10 so I have over a dozen extra.

I've got Prodrive springs, Koni inserts, Cusco camber plates up front ('02 wagon the struts migrated form my sedan hense the camber plates). Does well on the track. I do notice the springs being a bit soft to be pushed really hard. A good combo for street/track setup. I rode in cars with coil overs and depending on the spring rates they won't kill your ride. Never the less, coil overs present other issues: corner weighing, clunks, etc...
Now to the question at hand. Weekend track car:
1. Spare set on rims with R compound tires. This will decrease your lap times more than all the other stuff.
2. After you've done a few weekends you will see which area of the car lags the most and improve on that.
My 2 cents...
