Tools to remove caliper

Does anyone know what sort of tool I will need to remove the front and rear brake calipers on a 2003 impreza rs. I don't know if its a hex, allen, or torx. If anyone knows and can give a size it would be much appreciated.

They're normal bolts.

17mm and 14mm IIRC.

make sure you use some liquid wrench or somethin comparable. we snapped two on my 02 wrx and i had to switch calipers to my buddy's old 04 ones instead. it sucked bleeding brakes in 20 degree weather. just spray the hell out the bolts before you try loosening.

Always a good idea, especially if in a northern climate. You probably wont have any problems though. If changing out the pads, you may need a caliper piston tool to back the piston up. Sometimes you can get away with a huge set of pliers

Or a c-clamp and a piece of wood.
